Kloof Dam: Looking Ahead
We're also excited to share our longer-term plans for Kloof Dam, which will ultimately expand our fly fishing offering.

This year, Kloof Dam is being run dry in preparation for future trout stocking. As water levels drop, guests still have the opportunity to enjoy excellent bass and carp fishing, with some impressive fish coming out at present.
Once emptied, the dam will be re-shaped into two sections:
An upper section dedicated to bass & carp
A lower section designed. exclusively for trout
The lower section will be dug deeper to allow for cooler water temperatures, creating ideal trout conditions. We'll also be adding a second gravel access road, allowing accessibility around the dam.
This is a careful, long-term project - emptying, reshaping, rebuilding, refilling and restocking takes time. We are aiming to include Kloof Dam in our fly fishing packages from 2028, offering two distinct fishing locations at Leliekloof.

More Than Fishing
While fishing is close to our hearts, it's only part of what makes Leliekloof special.
Guests can also enjoy:
Guided rock art tours, sharing and protecting some of South Africa's most remarkable cultural sites
Hiking through dramatic sandstone formations in our hidden Stormberg valley
Exploring the diverse flora and fauna, unique to this landscape and season
Leliekloof remains a place to slow down, to explore, to rest, to reconnect with nature in a quiet and meaningful way.
We'd love to welcome you back this year, whether for fishing, walking, learning, or simply being still for a while.
Feel free to get in touch, we'd be happy to help!
